This essay deals with the problem of violence. We will imagine our universe like a huge river of change, where many little whirlpools form and interact. One of these whirlpools is our living world with our human community. Because of all differences, everyone must deal with violence. The essay explores different paths in this ‘jungle of violence’.
Our world and society will be imagined like many volume-knobs that regulate each other.
If they are not adjusted, there will be violence. When they become well-adjusted,this means evaporation (reduction) of violence.
The essay will show that violence evaporating is best possible somewhere in the middle between ‘total violence’ and ‘zero violence’. This is how all life and humans are able to stay alive and develop.
We will explore this ‘area in the middle’. Here we will find ideas about how to evaporate violence, and improve the lives of ourselves and others. It also includes our technology, especially Artificial Intelligence. These insights might help to evaporate the violence between humans, eco-systems and technology.
This essay was written by Rough and Tumble founder Hans Dekens, over the course of four years. 200 copies were printed and spread across the globe to people who have to deal with the problem of violence. But it’s also available to the public to download. It’s meant for everybody that’s interested in how we can reduce violence in living beings, humans, society, and artificial intelligence.
